Epilogue

Once upon a time there was the most fragile little girl

Hurt by the cruel big bad world

You've heard this story before

Epilogues are funny things coming after fake endings

Fooling us that it's the end when we don't truly comprehend

All her dreams turned into nightmares

Thought she'd never leave her despair now

She's awake with eyes unclouded

She sees all the things that she doubted

That girl, she was so foolish, but we already know this

Lost in her dreams she's escaping

Doesn't need some fake prince charming

That girl she doesn't believe anymore

Close the book on this old fairy tale

She stumbled but she got back up again

It's not over, no she didn't fail so then

Fairy Tale Girl, she is turning twenty-four

She'll find out what the whole world has in store

Leaving behind the tears that she cried

She's a new girl and she won't apologize

In her monologue, before long she had reached the epilogue

Now she is still going strong, and she knows she'll carry on

All alone and heartbroken, it left her frazzled and shaken

She lost her smile, she lost her drive

She wept and wept when her feelings died

Flipped through pages in a story book

The poison apple sunk its hook

A gentle heart and a fragile mind, a new purpose she had to find

A victim of aspirations held herself to unreal expectations

Thought they were the things that mattered

She had smiled as she watched it shatter

That girl, she was so foolish, but we already know this

Lost in her dreams she's escaping

Doesn't need some fake prince charming

That girl she doesn't believe anymore

Close the book on this old fairy tale

She stumbled but she got back up again

It's not over, no she didn't fail so then

This is not the end, she will not pretend

You can see that she's not the girl she was back then

Running forward to the river bend she understands

She got lost but she found herself

Rely on just her and no one else

Take the blame for her one mistake, she's deciding her own fate

That girl, she was so foolish, but we already know this

Lost in her dreams she's escaping

Doesn't need some fake prince charming
